Hundreds of thousands of devotees arrive at Matale Aluviharaya to witness Hiru Shraddhabi Wandana

The Hiru Shraddhabi Wandana, the religious program organized by Hiru FM and Hiru TV in commemoration of the Poson Full Moon Poya day – which signifies the introduction of Buddhism to Sri Lanka by Arahat Mihindu Thera continues since this morning at the sacred grounds of Matale Aluviharaya.

Hundreds of thousands of devotees have thronged at the historical Aluvihara temple to participate in various religious activities.

Hiru Shraddabi Wandana, is another regular endeavour for the betterment of the Buddha Sasana organized by Hiru FM and Hiru TV which has given priority to Amisa and Prathipaththi Puja as conceptualized by the Chairman of Asia Broadcasting Corporation Mr. Rayynor Silva.

Hiru Shraddhabi Wandana programme comprises several religious activities including Dhamma Sermons and Dhamma discussions.

Meanwhile, ordaining of lay children was held for the sustenance of the Buddha Sasana, under the patronage of Chairman of Asia Broadcasting Corporation, among the blessings of the Maha Sangha and hundreds of thousands of devotees.

The Pinkama was held under the special program of Hiru Shasanawatharanaya, where an offering of Ata pirikara was also conducted for the newly ordained monks.

Following the Buddha Puja at noon, an alms giving was held for 100 bhikkus as per the perennial customs under the patronage of Chairman of Asia Broadcasting Corporation Mr. Rayynor Silva.

Furthermore, an Adishtana Puja amidst the drums and offering of hundreds of thousands of jasmine flowers is scheduled to commence this evening.
